Haircut design...where do i start. Did you know we create different shapes with our haircuts? Yep! We designers can create a round layered cut, think Julianne Hough super short hair, a square layered cut, I don't know why but Lisa Rinna & Meg Ryan always come to mind. We can even create triangular cuts... think layered bob or Lob.

On top of that each person has a unique shaped face. Say what? Yes! The shapes are: Diamond, Oval, Round, Inverted Triangle (heart), Triangle, Oblong, & Square. On top of that, you can have multiple face shapes per one person. Lets take me for instance, i have a combination between a square & a heart shaped face. So for me I want to create more movement around my narrow chin to balance out my wide cheekbones & forehead. We can literally customize your haircut design to accentuate your face shape maybe you love your jawline or hide certain features if thats your goal. I love using the word design when it comes to cutting because that exactly what we are doing.

Ok, lets talk texture...we each have different hair textures and types of hair. Some people have fine texture & curly hair that can be easily manipulated into a straight look but then there are people who have coarse curly hair which require a lil more layering and styling. There are also people who have natural volume and lots of hair maybe a medium texture with lots of density. Opposite of that very fine hair with very low density. we can create different layering & texture in each haircut design to accommodate each individuals personal style, & lifestyle needs.

What I'm trying to tell you is there is a lot more to a haircut design than one might think and we designers, artists, hair dressers, hairstylists, whatever you wanna call us, have the tools to create the perfect combination for your individual needs. This is why I love hair, its such a fun creative outlet that again shines that light on your own individuality. I love it!
